Article 8 of the TEPA Act amends Article 779 of the General Tax Code: the allowance applied for inheritance and gift duties on the share of each child and each ascendant rises from €50,000 to €150,000, and the allowance for disabled persons also rises from €50,000 to €150,000. These amounts apply to estates opened and gifts made from 22 August 2007 and are indexed each year from 1 January 2008 (Article 9). The direct-line allowance was cut to €100,000 for transfers from 17 August 2012, while the allowance for disabled persons remains in force.
