Long-term partial activity scheme (APLD)

Decree No. 2009-478 of 29 April 2009 creates long-term partial activity, replacing the previous long-term reduced-time scheme. An agreement signed with the State for at least three months, renewable up to twelve months, allows employees whose working time falls below the legal duration to be compensated at no less than 75% of their gross pay. The State and the unemployment insurance body fund supplementary allowances; in return, the employer undertakes to keep the employees in work for twice the length of the agreement and to offer them an interview on training.
