Short-time work for vulnerable employees and parents required to look after a child
Article 20 of the second amending finance law for 2020 places on short-time work, from 1 May 2020, private-sector employees who cannot work because they are vulnerable to covid-19, live with a vulnerable person, or are parents of a child under sixteen or of a disabled person under an isolation or home-stay measure. They receive the short-time work allowance without the usual conditions, instead of special sick leave.

Vulnerable employees, people living with them and parents of children under 16 affected by closures or isolation were paid under the short-time work scheme from 1 May 2020; for vulnerable people and their relatives, until a date set by decree and no later than 31 December 2020.
