Exceptional reinstatement of the retirement-equivalent allowance for 2009
Decree No. 2009-608 of 29 May 2009 exceptionally reinstates the retirement-equivalent allowance (AER) for jobseekers who, between 1 January and 31 December 2009 and before age 60, have the insurance period required for a full-rate pension. The allowance, up to €32.30 a day, is means-tested (48 times that amount for a single person, 69 times for a couple). It replaces the specific solidarity allowance and, until 31 December 2009, the earned income supplement (RSA). A top-up is paid for the period from 1 January to 31 May 2009. Rights opened in 2009 continue until they expire; claims had to be filed by 31 December 2009.
