Creation of aid for shipowners providing freight services to Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon

Decree No. 2002-412 of 27 March 2002 establishes aid for shipowners providing freight services to the Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon archipelago, to lower the cost of transporting goods supplying the population. To qualify, a shipowner files with the prefect an annual schedule of at least thirty-six crossings from an outside port and shows compliant, replaceable vessels and a regular tax and social security position. The aid is paid quarterly according to the quantities carried; its basis and rate are set by order of the ministers for overseas territories and the budget, according to the finance act appropriations. An order of the same day sets the details.
