Flat-rate aid for converting LPG heating connected to Corsica's networks
Article 72 of the 2026 Finance Act creates a flat-rate aid for converting uses in view of dismantling heating equipment running on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from Corsica's LPG networks. The aid is paid to equipment owners by the Corsican authority or, by delegation, by municipalities, within a total of €152 million over ten years; it may not leave a negative remaining cost. It is funded by a share of the excise surcharge in Article L. 312-37-1 of the CIBS. The article also caps at €600M the aid for investments and operating deficits of Corsica's LPG networks and provides for a rising LPG price path. A Council of State decree, issued after the opinion of the Energy Regulatory Commission, sets the implementing conditions and the start of the ten-year period.
Measure originators
A positive amount is revenue or savings for public finances; a negative amount is a cost or lost revenue.
Measure impact
Owners of heating equipment connected to Corsica's LPG networks will be able to receive a flat-rate aid to switch to another energy, without the aid exceeding the cost left after other public aid. No aid can be paid before the agreement under Article L. 111-111 of the Energy Code is signed and the Council of State decree is published.
