2023 crisis aid for organic farms

Announced on 17 May 2023 and authorised by the European Commission on 3 August 2023 under the temporary State-aid framework linked to the war in Ukraine, this exceptional aid compensates up to 50% of the loss of gross operating surplus of farms that are fully organic or converting. It is limited to farms whose gross operating surplus and cash position for the 2022/23 financial year fell by at least 20% compared with the 2018-2019 average, with a minimum of €1,000. FranceAgriMer implements it through decision INTV-GECRI-2023-42 of 7 August 2023; the application window, opened on 16 August, was extended to 29 September 2023. Aid received from the €10 million emergency fund of spring 2023 is deducted.
