Hiring aid for SMEs ("Embauche PME") of €4,000 per employee
Decree No. 2016-40 of 25 January 2016 created an aid for companies with fewer than 250 employees hiring, between 18 January and 31 December 2016, an employee on a permanent contract or a fixed-term contract of at least six months paid up to 1.3 times the minimum wage. The aid is capped at €4,000 per employee, paid at up to €500 per quarter over 24 months and prorated to working time. It is managed by the Agence de services et de paiement.

Measure impact
Very small, small and medium-sized businesses (excluding private household employers) can receive up to €4,000 over two years for each eligible hire. The aid cannot be combined with another State employment aid for the same employee, except a professionalisation contract of at least six months.
