Creation of a freight aid for overseas businesses
Article 24 of the law on the economic development of the overseas territories creates an aid to lower the freight cost of raw materials or products imported into the overseas departments, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Mayotte, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin and Wallis and Futuna for use in production, or exported to the European Union after production there. Its amount is set each year in the finance act; it may be co-financed by the specific ERDF allocation for outermost regions. A decree sets the implementing rules.
