First job search aid (ARPE) for young graduates who held grants or were apprentices
Provided for by Article 50 of the Labour Act of 8 August 2016, the first job search aid was paid for four months to job-seeking young people under 28 who had obtained a vocational diploma less than four months earlier, if they held a grant in their final year of study or were apprentices meeting income conditions. Decree No. 2016-1089 and the order of 8 August 2016 set the terms: €200 per month for secondary-school graduates, the amount of the grant received for higher-education students, and €300 per month for higher-education apprentices. The aid was tax-free and exempt from contributions.

Measure impact
Young graduates who held grants or were low-income apprentices could receive a monthly aid for up to four months, stopped when they took a job paying more than 78% of the net minimum wage. The aid has not been granted since 1 January 2019.
