Forest renewal aid scheme
Decree No. 2026-937 of 8 October 2026 makes all public reforestation aid subject to conditions (diversified species beyond 4 hectares planted, adaptation to climate change, eligible forest reproductive material, firebreaks in fire-risk areas) and sets up a forest renewal aid for stands hit by pests, drought, hail, storms or fire, declining, vulnerable to climate change or poor. The aid rate is 50% (health, climate or fire crises) or 40% (decline, vulnerability, poor stands) of the eligible base, increased by 10 to 20 points depending on the case, capped at €2 million per beneficiary. Eucalyptus plantations are excluded. An order of the same day sets eligibility thresholds and flat-rate costs.
