Transitional solidarity allowance for jobseekers born in 1952 and 1953

The decree of 4 March 2013 created on an exceptional basis a transitional solidarity allowance (ATS) paid by Pôle emploi to jobseekers born between 1 January 1952 and 31 December 1953, receiving or entitled to unemployment insurance on 31 December 2010, who had the contribution quarters required for a full pension but had not reached the legal retirement age and could not receive the retirement-equivalent allowance. The means-tested allowance, of up to €34.33 a day, is paid until retirement age.

Measure impact

The ATS provides replacement income to older jobseekers affected by the rise in the legal retirement age, widening the group covered by the ATS created in 2011. Applications had to be filed by 31 December 2015.
