Solidarity allowances for performing arts workers who have exhausted their rights
Article 102 of the 2007 Finance Act creates Article L. 351-13-1 of the Labour Code: performing arts and audiovisual artists, workers and technicians who have exhausted their unemployment insurance rights under Annexes VIII and X, who do not meet the conditions for the specific solidarity allowance and who meet prior activity conditions, may receive specific allowances under national solidarity, funded by the Solidarity Fund and paid by the unemployment insurance body. Decree No. 2007-483 of 30 March 2007 creates two allowances: the professionalisation and solidarity allowance, granted under the rules of Annexes VIII and X signed on 2 March 2007, and the end-of-rights allowance for contracts ending after 31 December 2007. As a transitional measure, an allowance is paid for up to 92 days, capped at €45 a day, for contracts ending before 1 January 2008.
