State Medical Aid: tighter access and coverage conditions
The 2020 Finance Act amends State Medical Aid (AME): the three-month residence condition now applies to irregular stay, coverage of certain scheduled non-urgent services may be subject to a minimum period of AME entitlement (at most nine months, except for minors and except with medical control approval in case of serious risk), and first applications are lodged with the health insurance fund. It also extends urgent care coverage to adult asylum seekers not covered by the general scheme. Decree No. 2020-1325 of 30 October 2020 sets the period at nine months and lists the services concerned.
