Exceptional 50% depreciation of subscriptions to the capital of regional investment companies
Article 33 of the 2001 Amending Finance Act creates Article 217 quaterdecies of the General Tax Code. Companies subject to corporate tax may take, from the year of investment, exceptional depreciation equal to 50% of the amounts paid in cash to subscribe to the capital of regional investment companies created by the urban solidarity and renewal act, capped at 25% of the taxable profit for the year. If the shares are sold within five years, the depreciation is added back to profit with late-payment interest. Decree No. 2002-574 of 18 April 2002 sets the reporting obligations.
