Apprenticeships: state coverage of employer contributions limited to the date the qualification is obtained
Article 130 of the 2005 Finance Act amends Article L. 118-6 of the Labour Code, Article 18 of Act no. 87-572 of 23 July 1987 and Article 20 of Act no. 92-675 of 17 July 1992: the State covers employer social contributions on apprentices' wages until the date the diploma or qualification being prepared is obtained. Previously, this coverage (full or partial depending on the employer) ran until the end of the apprenticeship contract. According to the explanatory memorandum quoted by the Senate, coverage 'is no longer justified once the young person has obtained the diploma or qualification'. Apprentices' pay is unchanged.
