Additional 20 TWh of nuclear electricity at the regulated price (ARENH) in 2022

An order of 11 March 2022 exceptionally raises to 120 TWh for 2022, instead of 100 TWh, the maximum volume of historical nuclear electricity that EDF must sell to suppliers. Decree 2022-342 of 11 March 2022 organises an additional delivery period for these extra volumes from 1 April 2022, and a second order of the same day sets their price at €46.2/MWh.

Measure impact

Electricity suppliers that received ARENH volumes for 2022 can buy extra volumes delivered from April to December 2022, limiting price rises for their customers. The cost is borne by EDF, not by the State budget.
