7-point cut in the health and maternity insurance contribution of farm operators (AMEXA)
Decree no. 2016-392 of 31 March 2016 lowers the rate of the health and maternity insurance contribution (AMEXA) paid by heads of farms or agricultural businesses from 10.04% to 3.04% (article D. 731-91 of the rural and maritime fishing code). The cut applies to contributions due for periods from 1 January 2016; the MSA took it into account in its subsequent contribution calls.

A positive amount is revenue or savings for public finances; a negative amount is a cost or lost revenue.
Measure impact
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the cut represents a State effort of €500 million per year. It comes on top of the 3-point cut in farmers' personal contributions applied since 2015 under the responsibility and solidarity pact.
