Cap on occupational accident daily allowances lowered to 1.8 times the minimum wage

The daily wage used to compute daily allowances after an occupational accident or disease is capped at 0.226% of the annual social security ceiling (about 1.8 times the minimum wage), down from 0.834%, for accidents occurring from 1 November 2026.

Measure impact

The daily reference wage cap falls from about €400 to about €109 per day. Only employees earning above that level see lower allowances; accidents before 1 November 2026 are not affected.
