The range of the ticket modérateur (patient co-payment) for dental care rises from 35–45% to 50–60%, reducing the share reimbursed by Assurance maladie (public health insurance) from 1 January 2027.

Measure impact

The decree amends Article R.160-5 of the Social Security Code: the patient's share for dental care will be between 50% and 60% (versus 35% to 45%). The exact rate is to be set by UNCAM (national health insurance fund union) within this range; it had not been published as of 27 September 2026. The higher out-of-pocket cost is in principle partly covered by supplementary health insurance.
