Energy savings certificate bonus for electric buses and coaches tied to European manufacturing
The order of 18 September 2026 changes the energy savings certificate bonus for sheet TRA-EQ-128 (purchase, lease or electric retrofit of coaches and buses). From 1 October 2026, the certificate volume is multiplied by four for coaches and, for buses whose manufacturing sites (body, chassis, structure, painting, final assembly) are in the European Economic Area and on a published list, by five in urban areas of up to 250,000 inhabitants and by four elsewhere; retrofitted buses follow from 1 November 2026. From 1 January 2027, coaches get a coefficient of six under the same European manufacturing condition, for operations started by 31 December 2029.

Local authorities, transport authorities and operators buying, leasing or retrofitting electric buses or coaches: the CEE bonus now depends on manufacturing sites being in the European Economic Area (new buses from 1 October 2026, retrofitted buses from 1 November 2026, coaches from 1 January 2027). Coefficients: 5 or 4 for buses depending on urban area size, 4 then 6 for coaches.
