Bike purchase bonus: income thresholds raised on 1 January 2023

Decree No. 2022-1761 of 30 December 2022 rewrites the aid for buying low-emission vehicles in the Energy Code. For the bike bonus (Art. D. 251-1-4), the aid is open to individuals whose reference taxable income per share is at most €14,089 (previously €13,489 according to the Government); the higher ceilings are reserved for households below €6,358 (previously €6,300) and for people with disabilities. The aid equals 40% of the purchase cost, capped at €400 (or €300) for an e-bike, €2,000 (or €1,000) for a cargo, folding or adapted bike or an electric bike trailer, and €150 for a standard bike bought by a very low-income household.
