Lump sum for heating and housing benefits for miners dismissed for strike action and later amnestied
Article 107 of the 2005 Finance Act grants cash heating and housing benefits to miners dismissed for strike action and amnestied by Act no. 81-736 of 4 August 1981, and to their surviving spouses, who receive a pension from the mining social security scheme. According to the Senate report, these are miners dismissed after the October-November 1948 strike. The National Agency for the Guarantee of Miners' Rights calculates the benefits in proportion to validated service, under the rules for Houillères de bassin staff converted from 1 January 1984, and pays them once as a lump sum.
