Veteran's card: four months of service in overseas operations recognised as equivalent to combat
The 2015 Finance Act recognised at least four months of service in overseas operations as equivalent to taking part in combat for the award of the veteran's card (carte du combattant), from 1 October 2015. It also opened this right to civilians who took part in operations within French units and removed the French nationality condition in Article L. 253 ter.
