2019 energy voucher: ceiling raised to €10,700 per consumption unit and higher amounts

The order of 26 December 2018 opens the energy voucher, from 1 January 2019, to households whose annual reference taxable income per consumption unit is below €10,700 (instead of €7,700 previously) and raises its face value. Amounts range from €48 to €277 depending on income and household composition; a new band is created between €7,700 and €10,700 per consumption unit.

Measure impact

According to State services' communication, the number of beneficiary households rose from 3.6 to 5.8 million in 2019. The voucher can be used to pay electricity, gas, heating oil or wood bills, or certain energy renovation works.
