Special education allowance supplement increased from three to six categories

Decrees No. 2002-421 and No. 2002-422 of 29 March 2002 increase from three to six the number of categories of the special education allowance supplement paid for a disabled child. The classification takes into account a parent's reduction or cessation of work, the use of a paid carer and disability-related expenses. Supplements for the first five categories are set at 24%, 65%, 92%, 142.57% and 182.21% of the monthly basis for family allowances; the sixth category equals the third-party assistance increase for category-3 invalidity pensioners. Families already receiving the allowance keep it until their file is reviewed.
