Carbon component raised to €22 per tonne of CO2 in 2016 (natural gas €4.34/MWh, coal €7.21/MWh)
In line with the carbon component trajectory set by the 2014 Finance Act (€7 in 2014, €14.50 in 2015, €22 in 2016 per tonne of CO2), the 2016 rates of domestic consumption taxes include a value of €22 per tonne of CO2. Article 14 of the 2015 amending Finance Act sets in particular the 2016 rate of the natural gas tax (TICGN) at €4.34/MWh (gross calorific value) and of the coal tax (TICC) at €7.21/MWh, and already sets the 2017 rates (€5.88 and €9.99/MWh).
