Maternity leave of self-employed women and farmers aligned with employees' minimum duration
The 2019 Social Security Financing Act makes the flat-rate maternity rest allowance and the flat-rate daily allowances of self-employed women conditional on stopping work for at least eight weeks, as for employees. For women farmers, it creates flat-rate daily allowances when replacement by salaried staff cannot be arranged. The Government had committed to extend the maximum compensation period to 112 days by decree.
