Full coverage of consultations and tests related to contraception for minors
Article 64 of the Social Security Financing Act for 2016 extended the waiver of the patient's co-payment, already applicable to reimbursable contraceptives for minors aged at least 15, to consultations and procedures related to contraception and to the laboratory tests needed to prescribe it. Decree No. 2016-865 of 29 June 2016 set the conditions from 1 July 2016.

Measure impact
Girls aged 15 to 17 can see a doctor or midwife about contraception, and have the related tests, free of charge and confidentially. According to the impact assessment quoted by the Senate, the measure costs health insurance €3.9 million per year.
