Overseas: strengthened employment access contract and youth job-creation bonus in Mayotte
Article 10 of the overseas programme Act amends the employment access contract of the overseas departments (Article L. 832-2 of the Labour Code): the employer contribution exemption covers pay up to the minimum wage plus 30%, its duration rises from twenty-four to thirty months for recipients of the minimum integration income (RMI), the contract is opened to youth-job holders whose contract ends before 1 January 2008, the aid requires the employer to be up to date with social and tax obligations, and the former RMI recipient's complementary universal health cover is maintained. Article 13 rewrites Article L. 325-2 of the Labour Code applicable in Mayotte: a State-funded job-creation bonus is paid for up to three years to Mayotte businesses that hire on a full-time permanent contract a jobseeker aged sixteen to twenty-five, with a net job creation; its amount is set as a percentage of the minimum wage.
