Creation of the professional security contract for employees dismissed for economic reasons
Article 41 of the Act of 28 July 2011 on developing work-study training and securing career paths creates the professional security contract (CSP), which replaces the personalised redeployment agreement and the professional transition contract. In companies not subject to redeployment leave (fewer than 1,000 employees), the employer must offer it to each employee it intends to dismiss for economic reasons. Joining it ends the employment contract and opens a return-to-work pathway (assessment, support, training, work periods) with an allowance. If no offer is made, the employer pays a contribution of two to three months' salary. The professional transition contract applies to procedures initiated up to 31 August 2011. The Unédic agreement of 19 July 2011, approved by order of 6 October 2011, sets the professional security allowance at 80% of the daily reference wage for twelve months for employees with at least one year of service, and applies to redundancy procedures initiated from 1 September 2011.
