Single integration contract (CUI) comes into force in mainland France
Decree No. 2009-1442 of 25 November 2009, implementing Act No. 2008-1249 of 1 December 2008 generalising the earned income supplement, introduces the single integration contract from 1 January 2010 in mainland France. The CUI takes the form of an employment support contract (CAE) in the non-market sector and an employment initiative contract (CIE) in the market sector; it replaces the future contracts and the integration-minimum activity income contracts. The employer signs an individual agreement giving entitlement to financial aid calculated using a coverage rate set by the regional prefect or the president of the departmental council and, for the CAE, to an exemption from employer contributions. For recipients of the department-funded RSA, the department’s contribution equals 88% of the flat-rate RSA amount for a single person. In the overseas departments, the scheme applies from 1 January 2011 (Decree No. 2010-1729).
