30% final social contribution on carried interest taxed as salary
Article 21 of the 2010 social security financing act creates Article L. 137-18 of the Social Security Code: a 30% final social contribution applies to distributions and net gains on units of venture capital funds, shares of venture capital companies or similar rights (carried interest) that are subject to income tax under the rules for wages and salaries pursuant to Article 80 quindecies of the General Tax Code. It is paid by the employees and managers concerned and allocated to their health insurance scheme. Management companies must report the identity of beneficiaries and the amount of these gains (Article 242 ter C of the General Tax Code). The final wording results from a government amendment adopted in the Senate.
