0.6% contribution on the turnover of laboratories marketing reimbursable medicines
Article 74 of the Health Insurance Act of 13 August 2004 introduces, in Article L. 245-6 of the Social Security Code, a contribution from companies marketing reimbursable medicines in France, at 0.6% of their turnover excluding tax, with the exception of certain generics. It is paid as a 95% instalment on 15 April, based on the previous year's turnover, and then adjusted, and is not deductible from income or corporate tax. It applies for the first time to 2005 turnover, with the instalment due by 15 April 2005. The same article sets the safeguard clause rate K at 1% for 2005, 2006 and 2007. The rate of this contribution was raised later.
