One-off contribution from supplementary health insurers to fight the flu pandemic
Article 10 of the 2010 Social Security Financing Act creates, for 2010, a one-off contribution payable by mutual insurers, provident institutions and health insurers, as their share in the national effort against the flu pandemic. It is based on the premiums subject in 2010 to the contribution to the CMU fund, at a rate of 0.94%. The revenue goes to the national health insurance fund for employees, which shares it among the compulsory schemes.

Supplementary health insurers pay a one-off contribution of 0.94% of their health premiums. According to the Senate social affairs committee report, the expected yield is about €300 million for all schemes in 2010.
