Inframarginal revenue contribution on electricity producers extended for 2024 at 50%
The 2024 Finance Act adds a fourth taxation period, from 1 January to 31 December 2024, to the contribution on inframarginal revenue from electricity production created by Article 54 of the 2023 Finance Act. For this period, the contribution applies to 50% of operating revenue above each installation's flat-rate threshold, against 90% in 2022 and 2023, and the unit thresholds by technology are changed.

Measure impact
According to the Government, quoted in the Senate report, the extension could raise about €500m, heavily dependent on 2024 wholesale electricity prices. Filing and payment rules were set by Decree No. 2024-825 of 16 July 2024. The contribution was not extended beyond 2024 by this act.
