Contribution to the revitalisation of employment areas in case of collective redundancies
Firms with at least 1,000 employees (or belonging to a group of that size) covered by article L. 321-4-3 of the Labour Code that carry out a collective redundancy affecting the balance of an employment area must contribute to creating activities and jobs there, for at least twice the monthly minimum wage per job cut (the prefect may lower it if the firm cannot bear it). Actions are set by an agreement with the State signed within six months; without an agreement or a collective agreement in its place, the firm pays twice that amount to the Treasury. Firms in receivership or liquidation are excluded. Decree no. 2005-1084 of 31 August 2005 sets the details.
