Corsica: gradual phase-out of the profit tax exemption for businesses in the free zone
The Economic Initiative Act introduces a gradual phase-out of the profit tax exemption under Article 44 decies of the General Tax Code for businesses located in Corsica: at the end of the exemption period, profits are taxed on 20%, 40%, 60% and then 80% of their amount during the following four twelve-month periods. The same article allows this scheme to be combined with the tax credit for investment in Corsica (Article 244 quater E) for investments made since 1 January 2002.
