Creation of the contribution on companies' value added (CVAE)
As part of the territorial economic contribution created by Article 2 of the 2010 Finance Act, the CVAE is due from businesses with turnover above €152,500. Its statutory rate is 1.5% of value added, but a relief brings the effective rate down to 0% below €500,000 of turnover, then raises it gradually to 1.5% above €50 million. A minimum contribution of €250 applies to businesses with turnover above €500,000. Businesses had to declare their 2009 value added by early May 2010. The rate was later reduced from 2021 and the phasing out of the CVAE was started.
