Creation of the university young company (JEU) status
Article 71 of the 2008 Finance Act opens the young innovative company scheme (exemptions from profit tax, local taxes and employer contributions) to SMEs managed or at least 10% owned by students, holders of a master's degree or doctorate obtained less than five years earlier, or teacher-researchers, whose main activity is developing research carried out in their higher education institution. An agreement with the institution, specified by a Conseil d'État decree, governs this. The measure applies to financial years beginning on or after 1 January 2008.
