Creation of state support for youth employment in companies ("contrat jeune", SEJE)
Article 1 of the Act of 29 August 2002 creates state support for employers who hire, from 1 July 2002, young people aged 16 to 22 with a qualification below the baccalauréat on open-ended contracts, for working time of at least half the collective working time. The support, calculated by reference to employer contributions, is paid for three years. Decree 2002-1163 of 13 September 2002 sets it at €225 a month for a full-time minimum-wage salary (up to €292.50), with a 50% reduction in the third year.
