Disabled adult allowance (AAH) no longer based on the partner's income
Article 10 of Law No. 2022-1158 of 16 August 2022 removes the spouse's, cohabitant's or civil partner's income from the calculation of the disabled adult allowance (Art. L. 821-1 and L. 821-3 of the Social Security Code). Recipients for whom the former joint calculation is more favourable keep it until their entitlement expires. Decrees No. 2022-1694 of 28 December 2022 and No. 2023-360 of 11 May 2023 set the implementing rules and the entry into force on 1 October 2023, the deadline set by the law, and remove the income ceiling specific to couples.
