Ending the freeze on military disability pensions and veterans' pensions for veterans from former colonies
Article 100 of the 2007 Finance Act aligns, from 1 January 2007, the military disability pensions and veterans' pensions paid to nationals of countries or territories that belonged to the French Union or the Community, or were under French protectorate or trusteeship, with those paid in France. The point value and indices are now identical. Pensions for surviving spouses and orphans are also aligned. Pensions already in payment are revised on request from 1 January 2007, without late-payment interest. These amounts had been frozen at the date of these countries' independence. Civil and military retirement pensions are not covered by this article.
