Spouse's salary paid by a sole trader: deduction cap raised from €2,600 to €13,800, full deduction for members of an approved management centre
Article 12 of the 2005 Finance Act amends Article 154 I of the General Tax Code. When calculating business and professional profits, the salary paid to the spouse of a sole trader is deductible up to €13,800 instead of €2,600. For members of an approved management centre or association, the deduction becomes full, instead of being capped at thirty-six times the monthly minimum wage. The rules apply to financial years beginning on or after 1 January 2005.
