Doubling of employer contributions on top-hat pensions (defined-benefit schemes)
The August 2012 Amending Finance Act doubles the rates of employer contributions on defined-benefit supplementary pension schemes ("top-hat pensions", Article L. 137-11 of the Social Security Code). The contribution on annuities rises from 16% to 32% for pensions starting from 1 January 2013. Contributions on premiums and allocations rise from 12% to 24% and from 24% to 48% for financial years starting after 31 December 2012.
