Tougher car malus from 1 January 2020
The 2020 finance act sets a new malus scale on CO2 emissions of new cars measured under the former standard (correlated NEDC): the malus applies from 110 g/km (€50) and reaches the €20,000 ceiling above 184 g/km. This scale applies from 1 January to 29 February 2020, before the switch to the WLTP standard on 1 March.
