Exemption from pension contributions in 2023 for retired doctors who resume work
Article 13 of the 2023 Social Security Financing Act exempts self-employed doctors combining full retirement and work from basic, supplementary and additional old-age insurance contributions due for 2023, provided their annual self-employed income is below an amount set by decree. Decree No. 2023-503 of 23 June 2023 sets this ceiling at €80,000.

Measure impact
A retired doctor who resumed self-employed work in 2023 and earns less than €80,000 from it pays no pension contributions on that income for 2023, whereas in full combination these contributions do not create new rights. The measure is limited to 2023.
