Tax exemptions for new businesses extended to regional aid zones (AFR 2007-2013)
Article 87 of the 2006 Amending Finance Act adapts several regional development tax schemes to the new 2007-2013 regional aid (AFR) map and to Regulation (EC) No 1628/2006. The profit tax exemption for new businesses (Article 44 sexies of the General Tax Code) is opened to businesses created between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2009 in AFR zones, in addition to rural revitalisation and urban regeneration zones. Exceptional depreciation of SME buildings (Article 39 quinquies D) is extended until 2014 and reserved for SMEs as defined at EU level. Property leasing and business tax exemption schemes are linked to AFR zones.
