Energy voucher pilot in four départements

Decree No. 2016-555 of 6 May 2016, implementing Article 201 of the Energy Transition for Green Growth Act, defined the energy voucher and piloted it in Ardèche, Aveyron, Côtes-d'Armor and Pas-de-Calais. It is available to households whose reference taxable income per consumption unit is below €7,700; its value ranges from €48 to €227 depending on income and household composition. It can be used to pay home energy bills or certain energy renovation works.

Measure impact

In the four départements, low-income households receive an energy voucher instead of the social electricity and gas tariffs, which ceased to apply there on 1 May 2016. The voucher also benefits households heating with fuel oil, wood or LPG.
