Pilot of the Youth Guarantee ("Garantie jeunes")

The decree of 1 October 2013 created on a pilot basis, until 31 December 2015, a "youth guarantee" for young people aged 18 to 25 in severe hardship who are not in education, employment or training and whose resources are below a ceiling. A one-year renewable contract with the local youth employment office provides support towards work or training and a flat monthly allowance equal to the single-person RSA amount minus the housing deduction, fully combinable with earnings up to €300 net a month. The pilot areas are set by order.
